Nail it!

Soooooo I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for spring/summer to get here!

I need daylight after 5pm, sunlight on my face and freckles, the smell of freshly mowed grass, butterflies, home made ice tea, picknicks in the park, laying on the beach, cosmopolitan cocktails, and COLOURS everywhere.
So I got quite excited when my eyes dropped on these lovely nailpolishes. Personally, I think these colours can be worn winter, autumn, spring and summer. Every outfit can use a fresh lick of nailpolish, to brighten our day up. So go and get em girls, let's speed things up, hello summer!

In (heart) with Chanel

Today I discovered a vintage website online..www.vintage-paris.com. I absolutely fell in love with everything! Yes, it is pricy..but a chanel vintage bag is a must in every fashionista's closet. It's timeless, flawless, and so chic. I love the oversized travel/shop bag! Or the glossy briefcase lookalike. If I was rich, I would get every single purse on this page. They all look amazing! Wish my cash was as dash as these purses! Patience! One day, that vintage bag will be mine. And when that day comes, YOU will know about it..FOR SURE! Enjoy my fellow fashionista's.. xoxo

No more acne!

So I found a very easy way to keep my face acne free! It's so easy, that I really don't know why you would even invest in expensive products. So this is what you need.. A clean make up free face, a little bowl, hot water, sea salt ( no regular kitchen salt!!! ), and a little sponge, or wipe.

You start by getting out a small bowl.

You use sea salt, not the regular kitchen salt.

You pour a little bit of hot water into the bowl.

You put some salt into the water, and you mix it up with your fingers.
Because the salt has to dissolve. That's also why you use warm water instead of cold.

Salt is dissolving. don't wait too long, because your water will get cold. If there are still some chunks of salt in there, it gives you that extra scrub sensation. Your water is ready, if it tastes like the ocean.

You take a small wipe, dip it in to the water, make sure the wipe sucks up all the water, try to get out the remaining salt.

Then you wipe your whole face. At first you will feel nothing. But then if you've applied it correctly, your face will start tingling on the spots where you have acne, or are about to. You leave it on for 5 minutes. After that, you just wash it off. Just make sure you wipe all the salt from your face. You will immediately notice, a glow on your face. So pretty, and it feels really healthy and soft.

So people, make sure you clean your face before applying the salt. I've been using it for a couple of days now, and I can honestly say, my face looks better!

Why use real sea salt, instead of normal kitchen salt?
Salt in it's unprocessed form contains all the vital minerals that our body needs.

My make up session with MAC cosmetics @ Antwerp

Today I had an appointment at the MAC store in Antwerp. I booked a one on one make up session with one of their make up artists. So when I arrived, they took me in the back of the store, asked me if I wanted something to drink, considering the cold and windy weather outside, I ordered a coffee. I sat down, and right after my MUA Bonny approached me. Very nice girl, I felt really comfortable talking to her. She asked me if I wanted something specific done, or if I had questions about specific topics. I said my skin was a trouble area, and that I wanted to be able to create a very natural and nude look..immediately she started getting products out. She knew instantly what I was looking for. She did a great job! She applied all the products, and while doing so, she explained what she was doing, and why. Very helpful. It took us about an hour, after my face was done, she got out her face chart..and started repainting my make up look on the chart, she also wrote down, all the products she used on my face. Very useful. After the make up session, I had to pick which products I was going to take home. I made my choice, and paid. I left feeling very girly and happy. I recommend this to all of you, who just want some explanation about a specific make up look, or help with your personal struggles.

This is how it works. I got a giftcard for 60 euros. You get the make up session for free, and afterwards you get to spend your giftcard on the products you want. What I love about the MAC store, is that they really take their time, to help you. with every problem you're strugglin with.
So even without an appointment, just go by, and ask one of the sales people.

products I bought today :

MAC prep and prime, vibrancy eye primer
MAC prep and prime, brightening serum
MAC mineralize skinfinish natural
MAC concealer, select moisturecover
MAC cremesheen glass lipgloss boy bait

What I learned today :

  1.  Using a brush to apply foundation, gives it a more natural effect.
  2. Always use powder to finish your make up look. Your make up lasts way longer.
  3. If you have dry spots on your face, like for myself, with this cold weather, my nose tends to get flaky..just scrub it with a scrub gel.
  4. If you see that the make up did not blend well, just use your fingers to make it blend.
  5. If you want to create a radiant looking make up look, the most important thing is your eyes. If you light them up, it will make a huge difference. You look better instantly.
  6. If you tend to get pimples easily, don't use a hydrating cream, go for a serum with a water base. Way better for your skin.

I asked for a natural, nude make up look, that I could easily use every day. Et voila.

New supply of hairproducts

Thank you strawberrynet.com! I ordered these hair products online, Frederic Fekkai is the new big name in hair wonderland. I used the Fekkai advanced full blown volume shampoo and conditioner yesterday..my hair felt so soft and healthy afterwards. It does add some volume to my hair, but in a subtle way, not too bombastic. But I like the result. My hair is shiny, and feels strong. The other product I got is the Fekkai Glossing shampoo and conditioner. I got the big sizes, so I would be good for a long time. Best products I've used so far.

Joico is another favorite of mine. I've been using the moisture revorery shampoo and conditioner. Again, lovely products. Now I read somewhere that one of the best hair masks is the K-pak. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be sure to post a review about it.

Lovely sparkles

I bought these little jewels at the American Apparel store in Antwerp. I'm seriously addicted to nailpolish. I have about 40 different colours and brands. More expensive ones, and offcourse the cheap products. These glitter and metallic nailpolishes were 7 euros each. I fell in love with the left one..that's the one i'm wearing now..I started with a black layer from OPI, and then added this Supernova nailpolish..it looks amazing! You can layer it very thick, so it looks like your nails are covered with diamonds. Then finish with a top coat, and your set to go.

You can find these 4 colours in the store on the Kammenstraat.
