It's gonna be a supersized androgyn geeky winter!

As we burry our summer dresses far away in our closet, I can't help but look forward to our winter that's coming. When I take a look at the upcoming winter fashion, and most importantly, the streetfashion, I see 3 undeniable trends that are taking over this '12 winter. Let me introduce trend #1 ; 

Supersize me

This trend is a personal favorite, actually all 3 of them are, I love wearing oversized sweaters. If you accesorize them well, you can create a look that's flawless in no time. Oversized goes well with a lot of stuff..it's all in the way you combine them. For example, an oversized sweater, with some denim shorts, some tights, and a flat shoe, or boot. Accesorize with a shoulder vintage bag, and a lot of golden necklaces, and some bracelets and a gorgeous big ring. Add some nailpolish as the final touch. eh voila, you've got a flawless, but very comfy look. Wear your hair in a high messy bun, add some neutral nude make up, and a geeky pair of glasses.

It all started with this lady, Coco Chanel,  in the 20's she started making comfortable clothes for woman, using jersey instead of the corset fashion they were all used to at that time. She created the little boy look,  but always found a way to maintain a certain class and style. 

I am a big fan of these gender crossing outfits. I think there is nothing sexier than a woman dressed in a mannish suit, including tie, and a pair of high heels. An androgyn look, mostly contains a black and white outfit. Pretty basic, but with the right amount of make up, and accesories you can add a certain amount of class. For example just by adding fierce red lips, heavy black mascara on the eyes, and some highlighter, it gives it that little extra. Shoe wise, it works eather way, high heels, or a flat mannish shoe, both are evenly stunning. 

Geeky glasses 

I own two pair of geeky nerd glasses. Over the last few months, you could notice the upcoming trend of the nerd look. Most pairs do not even have real glass in them, they're just a statement of style. As our mine, I think it adds something very cute to your outfit. Without much hassle, you can upgrade your outfit in 5 seconds. The glasses look great with a low ponytail, or a high ponytail, with your hair straight back. Also the messy bun is a nice combo. Or your hair parted in the middle, and a long sleek look looks awesome aswell.

Whitney Eve

 

Whitney Port is an inspiration to me. I've been following her for quit some time now. We go way back, where she started out starring in the hills, as a intern at Teen Vogue magazine plus friend of Lauren Conrad..another favorite of mine. After that the cameras followed Whit to New york, in the mtv hit show The city, where you can see whit getting a job at Diane Von Furstenberg. In season 2 she goes and works at people's revolution, and she starts her own fashion line Whitney Eve. She's a gorgeous girl, with her mind set on straight. She knows what she wants, and she takes it. She's very ambitious, but still remains humble to everyone around her. Plus she has a good sence of style. I found this jumpsuit of her Whitney eve's spring collection '11, and fell absolutely in love with it. But unfortunately, only size 10 is left. Understandable, it is an adorable little playsuit.

La chung does it again

 

I bumped into these shots of Miss Alexa Chung. As we all know, Alexa is the new face of the new Vera Moda Party Collection. The absolute must haves from the collection are ; The white blouse with peter pan collar, the high waisted grey polka dot skirt, and the rough mettalic grey jacket that goes with practically every outfit. 

Alexa is an example to me, she inspires me in the way she combines high end, vintage, and everyday fashion.

Well hello there everybody..So sorry for my absence..I've been crazy busy with work, and me moving to Antwerp and everything. BUT tonight I've found the time to do what I love most..browsing the internet, searching for the next outfit to blow me away..Today it's miss Alexa Chung that caught my eye..After google'ing her, I've found her to be very inspiring. She's a lot like me, style wise that is..You can tell she just wears everything she likes, she's not scared of what people might say or think..like me..I get strange looks sometimes..but that's okay..I wear what I feel, I wake up in the morning, and I just know what mood i'm in. So here are some of my favorite looks.. 

Haider Ackermann fall 2011

As a soon to be student in fashion..I spend my free time, looking for inspiration. I came across Haider Ackermanns fall collection, and absolutely fell in love with it. The way he works the fabric, by draping, wrapping it around the body. The typical hallmarks were there, the action at the neckline, the small belted waists, the sleeves rolled up, the long lean legs. Gorgeous! His use of colour is amazing as well..He started out with some strong black outfits..Then he introduced ivory, very subtle. And after that he used some beautiful jewel colours..especially the blue colour is amazing. His use of fabric is interesting aswell.. the shiny silk blouses draped around the models, have such a feminin feel to it. Overal the collection had a pretty masculin attitude..which I adore. He is a true artist, that draping of the fabric is awesome, and it looks so beautiful. enjoy!
